The parent body of Anand Vihar School is Vanita Samaj founded by late Dr.(Mrs) V.Karanjgaonkar and late Mrs. Kamla Nerulkar in March 1960. The School was started in September 1963 & flourishing with fervour. The Vanita Samaj is being run by experienced, matured and dedicated women of society who dedicatedly working involuntary for the welfare of students. Anand Vihar School is an English medium School co-educational institution managed by a School Committee comprising honorary members of Vanita Samaj, Principal & Government representatives. The School celebrated its silver jubilee in December, 1987. The aim of School is to create an atmosphere of working co-operatively with joy & friendship, an atmosphere of openness of learning together, an atmosphere of academics to face the challenges of global competition and to inculcate moral values. The Management is grateful to the parents and guardians for giving us all the help and support in bringing up the children as good citizens of India. It is hoped that the support will always be forthcoming. The Management has introduced a new scheme of rewarding merit in our school. Instead of giving I & II prizes to students in every class, we will give scholar badges to all those students who score more than 85% marks in all the subjects. The students will wear these badges on their uniform. The scheme will start after class V exams. The badges will be given on the annual day of the school. All the students of class V will be covered by this scheme. The motto of the school has been derived from ancient treasure of Vedas " knowledge infuses humbleness ”
